Work activities of GeoFix s.r.o.
The company GeoFix s.r.o. deals with, among other things, the following activities: Business in the management of hazardous waste, including radioactive waste; Design and implementation of management of hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste, when solidified into an inorganic and geopolymer matrix; Development, manufacture, verification and application of decontamination procedures designed to decontaminate the contaminated living and working environment with hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste; Design of decontamination and technological installations for the decontamination of the contaminated environment and working environment with hazardous waste, including radioactive waste; Development, production, validation and applications of chemical products (excluding high-risk chemicals), technologies and equipment for the decontamination of the contaminated environment and working environment with hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste; Development, production, verification and applications with natural and modified raw materials for the preparation of powdered inorganic and geopolymer mixtures for solidification of hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste;
Development, manufacturing, verification and application of chemical processes for the reduction of hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste, prior to their solidification into an inorganic or geopolymer matrix; Design of process equipment for chemical processes to reduce and optimise the volume of hazardous wastes, including radioactive waste, prior to their solidification into an inorganic or geopolymer matrix; Development and research in the field of natural and technical sciences aimed at living and working environment; Some specific activities that are already implemented in operation, within the Project D4.4C „Dismantling of systems in the controlled zone of NPP V1 – part 2, subproject D4.4C.01“ are realized the following activities: Collection of radioactive waste (RA sludges, RA sorbents, RA activated carbon, borates, filter material, etc.) from tanks and filters up to 200 dm3 galvanized drums with treated inner surface for their treatment and subsequent solidification into an inorganic or geopolymer matrix; Various ready-made technological equipment is used to remove RA waste from tanks; Treatment of RA wastes in 200 dm3 (by chemical or mechanical processes) to the level of 30 to 50% dry matter RA wastes in 200 dm3 barrel; Various technological equipment is used to treat RA waste in 200 dm3 barrels; Solidification of treated RA wastes in 200 dm3 barrels into an inorganic matrix so that the resulting product meets the limits for disposal in Mochovce RA (compressive strength min. 5 MPa and leachability Li min 6; Preparation of inorganic powder mixture GEOCEM for solidification of RA wastes in a 200 dm3 keg;
